Everything you need to know about renting a car in Marrakech — from booking and payments to airport pickup, insurance, and local driving tips. We've got you covered.
Booking with Yet Cars is simple and fast. You can reach us by phone or WhatsApp at +212 701 161 213 or +212 661 403 132, by email at info@yetcars.com, or through our website booking form.
To secure your reservation, simply tell us your desired dates, preferred car type (economy, SUV, automatic, luxury, etc.), pickup location (Marrakech city, RAK airport, or your hotel), and any additional services like a child seat or a private driver.
We recommend booking at least 48 hours in advance for standard vehicles, and 72 hours for luxury or specialty cars. During peak seasons (December–January, July–August), earlier booking is strongly advised.
For most standard rentals, no advance payment is required — we simply ask you to confirm your details and honor your reservation. However, for peak-season bookings, luxury vehicles, and long-term rentals, a partial prepayment or card pre-authorization may be requested to hold the vehicle.
For airport pickups, we may ask for a small WhatsApp confirmation (photo of your driving license and passport page) to guarantee your slot, especially during busy periods at Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK).
Yes — we understand that travel plans change. You can modify your pickup date, time, duration, or vehicle category at no charge, subject to vehicle availability. Please contact us as early as possible to make changes, ideally at least 24 hours before your scheduled pickup.
Upgrades to a higher vehicle category are subject to the rate difference. Downgrades are treated as a cancellation of the original booking with a new booking created, so any price-lock benefit on the original reservation may be lost.
Our minimum rental period is 1 full day (24 hours). We also offer half-day and multi-day rentals. For vehicles with a driver, a minimum of 4 hours applies per booking.
For long-term rentals (monthly contracts), we offer significantly reduced daily rates — see our Long-Term section or contact us for a custom quote.
Our team is reachable 7 days a week, including weekends and public holidays. For Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK) pickups, we coordinate your delivery around your actual flight arrival time — even for early-morning or late-night arrivals.
Out-of-hours airport deliveries are available upon request and may carry a small supplement, which will always be communicated transparently in advance. Simply share your flight details and we'll be there when you land.
We accept multiple payment methods to suit every traveler:
Please note that some card types (like prepaid Visa) cannot be used for the security deposit authorization — a standard debit or credit card is required for that.
Transparent pricing is one of our core commitments. Your quoted rate always includes: basic third-party liability insurance, a defined mileage allowance, and standard vehicle maintenance.
Additional charges that may apply — and will always be declared upfront — include:
We will always quote these extras clearly before you sign. Nothing is added after the fact without your prior agreement.
Yes. We reward loyalty and longer rentals with reduced daily rates:
Contact us for a tailored quote based on your specific needs and duration.
We offer a 1-hour grace period at no charge for minor delays. Beyond that, late returns are charged at a pro-rata hourly rate for the first 3 hours, after which a full extra-day rate applies.
If you know you'll be running late, please contact us as soon as possible — in most cases we can arrange an extension at the same daily rate, subject to the vehicle not being reserved by another client. Communication is key and we're always flexible when informed in advance.
To rent a car with Yet Cars, every driver must present:
Moroccan nationals with a valid Moroccan driving license do not need an IDP. French, Spanish, Italian, and many EU licenses are generally accepted directly — please confirm with us if in doubt.
The minimum age to rent a car with Yet Cars is 21 years old, with a driving license held for at least 1 full year. Drivers between 21 and 24 may be subject to a young driver supplement and may not have access to all vehicle categories (e.g., luxury or high-performance cars).
Drivers aged 25 and above can access our full fleet without any age surcharge. There is no upper age limit, provided a valid license is held.
Yes. Additional drivers can be added to the rental contract for a small daily fee. Each additional driver must be present at the time of contract signing and must provide their valid driving license and ID.
Only drivers named in the contract are authorized to drive the vehicle. Allowing an unlisted driver to operate the car will void your insurance coverage and may result in full liability for any damages incurred.
Morocco does not require foreign tourists to obtain a Moroccan driving license for stays under 1 year. Your national driving license is valid for driving in Morocco, provided it is current.
However, if your license is not in French, Arabic, or uses a non-Latin alphabet (e.g., Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic-script licenses from non-Maghreb countries), carrying an International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside your national license is strongly recommended to avoid any complications at police checkpoints.
Every rental at Yet Cars includes mandatory third-party liability insurance (RC — Responsabilité Civile), as required by Moroccan law. This covers damage caused to third parties, other vehicles, and property in the event of an accident.
This is your baseline protection. It does not cover damage to the rented vehicle itself — that is handled separately through the excess (franchise) system or optional Collision Damage Waiver (CDW).
A Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) reduces your financial liability for damage to the rental car itself. Without it, you remain liable for damage costs up to the full value of the vehicle (or the excess/franchise amount stated in your contract).
We offer two levels of coverage:
CDW does not cover: tire damage, windscreen damage (unless the full protection option includes it), damage caused by driving under the influence, deliberate damage, off-road driving in unauthorized vehicles, or driving outside agreed territories.
Regardless of the insurance option chosen, the following are always excluded from coverage and remain your financial responsibility:
Always read your contract carefully — we are happy to clarify any clause before you sign.
Some premium credit cards (Visa Infinite, Mastercard Gold, Amex Platinum, etc.) offer collision damage coverage for rental cars, including in Morocco, when the full rental is charged to that card. However, coverage terms vary significantly by card, and many exclude SUVs, luxury vehicles, or rentals over a certain daily value.
If you plan to rely on your card insurance, we recommend: (1) contacting your card issuer before travel to confirm Morocco is covered, (2) understanding what the excess/deductible is, and (3) still taking our mandatory third-party liability insurance (which is included as standard).
We can provide all necessary documentation (contract, damage report, invoice) to support any insurance claim you need to file.
Absolutely. Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK) car rental is one of our most popular services. We deliver your chosen vehicle directly to the arrivals hall — you won't need to wait at a rental counter or take a shuttle to an off-site lot.
Our representative will be waiting for you with a clearly visible nameplate. The handover typically takes 10–15 minutes: a quick check of documents, signing of the contract, vehicle inspection, and you're on your way.
We serve all terminals at RAK and coordinate delivery around your actual flight arrival time (we track your flight number). Whether you land at 6 AM or midnight, we will be there.
Yes — we offer free delivery within Marrakech city for most rentals. We can bring the car to your hotel, riad, apartment, or any address you specify, including the Medina, Hivernage, Guéliz, and Palmeraie areas.
For deliveries outside Marrakech city (e.g., Ouarzazate, Agadir, Casablanca, Essaouira), a delivery supplement applies based on distance. Contact us with your location and we'll provide a quote promptly.
Returning your car at RAK is seamless. Simply drive to the designated drop-off area at Marrakech Menara Airport — our team will meet you, perform a quick vehicle inspection together, and issue your return confirmation on the spot.
We recommend arriving at least 2.5 hours before your flight to allow enough time for the vehicle return process and airport check-in. If you need to return the car earlier than planned, simply give us a call.
We track all incoming flights in real time. If your flight is delayed, we automatically adjust the delivery time — no extra charge, no stress, no need to call us (though you're welcome to). Your car and our representative will wait for you.
If your flight is cancelled, please contact us as soon as you know. We will hold the reservation for you at no penalty and rearrange delivery for your rescheduled arrival. Refer to our Cancellation policy for full details.
Book your car now and we'll deliver it right to your hotel or the airport — any time, any day.
Yet Cars maintains a diverse fleet covering all car categories to suit every traveler and budget:
We don't guarantee specific models (availability varies), but we always deliver the correct category and communicate alternatives transparently if your first choice is unavailable.
Yes. We offer infant carriers, forward-facing child seats, and booster seats as add-ons for a small daily fee. Please request the appropriate seat type and your child's age/weight when booking so we have the right equipment ready.
Moroccan law requires children under 10 years old to use an appropriate restraint system. We strongly recommend always using a suitable child seat regardless of the child's age for maximum safety.
For the Atlas Mountains, the Draa Valley, Ouarzazate, or Merzouga (Sahara), we recommend a high-clearance SUV or 4x4. The main N9 and N10 roads are well-paved, but mountain passes and tracks to smaller villages can be rocky and uneven.
A standard sedan or economy car can handle the major routes, but an SUV will give you significantly more comfort, confidence on mountain bends, and flexibility to explore off the main road. We'll advise you on the best category for your specific itinerary when you book.
Most modern vehicles in our fleet have built-in screens compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing you to use Google Maps or Waze directly on the car's display using your own phone. This is far more reliable and up-to-date than a standalone GPS unit.
If you don't have a compatible smartphone, we can advise on the best offline maps apps (Maps.me, OsmAnd) to download for Morocco before you travel, which work without a local SIM card.
Our driver with car service in Marrakech provides you with a professional, licensed, and experienced local driver who knows the city, roads, and region inside out. The service includes:
The driver service is billed per hour (minimum 4 hours) or per day. Long-term driver arrangements (weekly or monthly) are also available for business clients.
Absolutely. Our drivers are available for intercity travel and multi-day excursions throughout Morocco. Popular routes include: Marrakech to Essaouira (2.5 hrs), Marrakech to Ouarzazate (3.5 hrs), Marrakech to Agadir (3 hrs), and multi-day Sahara circuits.
For long-distance trips, the daily rate covers a defined number of hours or kilometers — additional distance and overnight driver accommodation (if required) are quoted transparently before departure.
Our drivers are professional chauffeurs with deep local knowledge, not certified tourist guides. However, they can certainly recommend great restaurants, suggest sightseeing routes, advise on local tips, and help you navigate the Medina.
For a full guided cultural or historical tour of Marrakech, we can connect you with our trusted network of licensed local guides who can accompany you on a walking tour while our driver waits. Just ask us at booking.
Yes — long-term car rental is a specialty of ours. We cater to expats, remote workers, NGO staff, construction project teams, business travelers on extended assignments, and anyone staying in Marrakech for a month or more.
Monthly rates are significantly lower than daily rates and include insurance, maintenance, and a generous monthly mileage allowance. Contracts can be 1 month to 12+ months with flexible renewal options. We can also include a driver in the arrangement if needed.
A typical long-term contract with Yet Cars includes:
Fuel, tolls, parking, and traffic fines are always the client's responsibility. Custom terms (unlimited mileage, specific maintenance inclusions) can be negotiated for contracts over 3 months.
Early termination is possible with 30 days written notice. An early-termination fee may apply, equal to the rate difference between the long-term rate applied and the standard short-term rate for the period already used. This ensures fairness on both sides.
We understand circumstances change — please contact us early and we'll work with you to find the best solution, including potential vehicle swaps or contract restructuring.
We operate on a "full-to-full" fuel policy: the vehicle is delivered with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank. If the car is returned with less fuel, you will be charged for the missing fuel plus a refueling service fee (typically 50–100 MAD), which covers the inconvenience of refueling before the next rental.
We recommend refueling at a station near the drop-off or airport before returning. Fuel stations are plentiful around Marrakech and along all major roads. Always use the correct fuel type (diesel or petrol) as indicated on the fuel cap and in the contract — misfueling is not covered by insurance.
Standard rentals include a daily mileage allowance (typically 200–300 km/day depending on the vehicle category and season). If you exceed this allowance, excess kilometers are billed at the per-km rate stated in your contract.
If you know you'll be covering a lot of ground (e.g., a Marrakech–Merzouga round trip is ~800 km), we recommend choosing an unlimited mileage option which is available on request. This gives you full freedom without any per-km concern. Ask us when booking and we'll quote accordingly.
No — toll fees (péages) are not included in the rental rate and are paid by the driver directly at toll booths. Morocco has an extensive motorway (autoroute) network with frequent toll plazas.
Major toll routes from Marrakech include the A7 (Marrakech–Casablanca) and A1 (onward to Rabat/Tangier). You can pay tolls in cash (MAD). There is no electronic toll tag system required — cash payment at the booth is the standard method for rental cars.
A refundable security deposit (caution) is collected at the start of every rental. The amount varies by vehicle category:
The deposit can be held via credit/debit card pre-authorization (no funds leave your account unless there is a claim) or paid in cash. It is returned in full upon vehicle return, once the car has been inspected and found in its original condition, fuel has been confirmed at the agreed level, and no outstanding charges exist.
Card pre-authorization refunds typically appear within 3–7 business days, depending on your bank. Cash deposits are returned immediately at return.
We may retain part or all of the deposit in the following situations (all of which are detailed in the rental contract):
We always provide a written, itemized breakdown of any deduction. Disputes can be raised directly with our team — we are committed to fair and transparent resolution.
We understand that plans can change. Our standard cancellation policy is:
For pre-paid or peak-season bookings with a specific prepayment, the terms applicable to that reservation will have been communicated at booking time. Always cancel via WhatsApp or email to have a written record.
Yes — extensions are easy to arrange. Simply contact us by phone or WhatsApp before your contract end date to request extra days. Extensions are granted at the applicable daily rate for that period, subject to the vehicle not being reserved by another customer.
For vehicles in high demand (peak season, premium categories), we recommend requesting an extension at least 24 hours in advance. In rare cases where the same vehicle is needed, we'll offer you an equivalent replacement at no inconvenience to you.
In case of any accident — minor or major — follow these steps immediately:
Never admit fault or sign anything other than the official constat amiable form without consulting us first.
Traffic fines are always the responsibility of the driver, not Yet Cars. If you are stopped at a checkpoint or issued a fine, pay it directly to the authorities (with a receipt).
If a fine is sent to us after your rental (e.g., a speed camera fine), we will forward the full fine amount to you plus an administrative fee for processing. We are required by law to provide the authorities with the renter's details if requested. All fines received are documented and handled transparently.
Cross-border travel requires a specific written authorization from Yet Cars and may require an additional cross-border permit document for the vehicle. Without this authorization, your insurance will be void outside Moroccan territory.
Currently, cross-border permits can be arranged for travel to Mauritania, Senegal, and in certain cases Spain (via ferry from Tanger Med or Ceuta). Please inform us of your itinerary at least 5 days in advance so we can arrange the correct documentation. Additional fees apply. Travel to Algeria is not currently possible via land border (closed).
Driving in Marrakech is manageable but does require some adjustment, especially if you're used to European or North American driving norms. Here's what to keep in mind:
The main mountain road from Marrakech — the N9 (Tizi n'Tichka pass to Ouarzazate) — is well-maintained, paved, and regularly used. It rises to over 2,260 m and features dramatic switchbacks. Drive slowly and stay in your lane — the road is narrow in sections.
The Ourika Valley road is popular and straightforward. The road to Imlil / Toubkal base is paved to Imlil but narrow toward the end. In winter (December–February), the Tichka pass can be snowbound — check conditions and carry chains if your itinerary involves high-altitude passes. An SUV with good ground clearance is strongly recommended for mountain travel.
Driving at night in Morocco is generally safe on major roads and motorways. However, we advise extra caution for the following reasons:
On the motorways (A1, A7, A3) and main national roads, night driving is fine — just maintain appropriate speed. For any remote or mountain driving, we recommend completing your journey before dusk.
We are reachable 7 days a week through the following channels:
For emergency roadside assistance (breakdown, flat tire, accident), call us immediately at the numbers above. We have a local network of assistance partners across Morocco to help you quickly — whether you're in Marrakech, the Atlas Mountains, or further afield.

Rather than a fixed single counter, we operate through flexible delivery and collection — we come to you, wherever you are in Marrakech (your hotel, the airport, your address). To arrange a meeting, simply call or WhatsApp us and we'll coordinate a convenient handover point.
Our Marrakech team is ready to help — call us, send a WhatsApp, or drop us an email and we'll get back to you fast.
